Chef Mac Russell is from Selma, Alabama. His interest in food began at a young age while cooking with his mother, grandmother and aunts at Seabed Ranch, their family home in Marion Junction, Alabama.
His professional background ranges from Culinard in Birmingham, AL, to Apicius in Florence, Italy. He has worked at many well-known establishments such as, Hot and Hot Fish Club, Jubilee Seafood, Flora-Bama Oyster Bar & Grill, Standard Bistro and Renaissance Ross Bridge Resort.
His passion is constructing comforting dishes that are seemingly innocent yet “spank” the taste buds, thus enlivening his guests’ fervor for our holistic approach to entertaining and sustainable foodstuffs.
